Early Life and Education

Wande Coal was born to Chief Ibukun Olufunto and Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria.

He is the younger one among two children whom they grew up together.

Wande Coal began his primary school education at Staff Nursery and Primary School in Ijanikin, Lagos State, and later transferred to Federal Government College in Ijanikin, Lagos State, for his secondary education.

He then went on to study Human Kinetics at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Lagos State.

Career

Wande coal began singing in his church’s teen choir. As a dancer, he got his first break in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

In 2006, he signed with Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits Records. On singles such as “Loke,” “Tonosibe,” and “Why me,” he appeared on D’banj’s Rundown and Funk you up album.

He is signed to Mo’ Hits Records, a member of the Mo’ Hits allstars, and played a significant role in the recently released CV (Curriculum Vitae) album.

Following a squabble between record label executives Don Jazzy and D’banj in 2012, Wande CoalDr SID, and D’Prince signed on to Don Jazzy’s new record label, Mavin Records, with Tiwa Savage from 323 Entertainment serving as the label’s first lady.

Wande Coal left Mavin Records on November 7, 2013 due to intellectual property theft of a song with the same lyrics as Don Jazzy.

In November 2013, he released a single called “Baby Face” as the song for which he left Mavin Records.

After a lengthy hiatus, Wande Coal released his second album, Wanted. The majority of album reviews rated him slightly above average.
