The survey asked people to rate their trust and confidence in each bank, as well as provide feedback about the services offered by each bank. The survey was carried out between November 2017 and January 2018, with over 1 000 people taking part across all 10 provinces of South Africa.

The top ranked bank in the survey, Standard Bank is a subsidiary of Absa Group and has been operating since 1871. It offers personal banking services, financial products and insurance through its branches across South Africa. Its network includes more than 1 000 ATMs and over 150 branches throughout the country. It also operates an online banking platform which allows customers to manage their accounts from home or on the go via web-enabled mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets.
